A Petition

To all of you dear friends who read my blog (all 3 of you... you know who you are!), and to any others who may read but never leave a comment, I make this request for prayer.  I have just submitted one of my poems for publication with Blue Mountain Arts.  You may have seen their greeting card line at a Cracker Barrel, in addition to Hallmark stores.  It is my first attempt at submitting anything I have written.  It may be anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before I receive a reply, but I will keep you posted.  I am in the hands of a gracious God who delights to give us the desires of our hearts and who has a plan for me that exceeds what I can imagine.  I choose to stand in faith in that place of peace.  Thank you for your loving encouragement and support.

Yay! I'll start working on my "I knew her when" speech.

"Yep, I knew Kathie way afore she got all famousified. Unassuming woman she was. Who'd a thunk she would one day command such a vast financial empire..."

Kathie, I think lots of people read your blog and even more so will in the future when you are famous. I love the jokes you guys make about low readership though. I'm certain many are praying for your exciting endeavors, and how I would love to soon read my personally autographed copy of your book to my pre-schooler. But your blog is definitely encouraging and fun to read. Lots of people read who blogs are too shy to make comments, especially if they are don't know you. I feel as someone who knows you but not very well a great hesitation to comment on your blog, even though I know you welcome it. In fact, PeaJ's blogs often inspire some kind of sentiment in me, but I often don't comment because I think I don't have "standing" and that perhaps one shouldn't leave deep long comments on someone's blog without more of an express invitation. I don't feel quite the same way about semi commercial blogs for people who use them to market something or generate publicity. But I pretty much have a rule about not commenting on complete stranger's personal blog, especially since I don't identify myself to the general public. I am ultra paranoid from some bad experiences in the past about putting myself out there. By the way, Jess, that was me who commented on Merry's blog the other day; I appreciated your comment and I giggled too, and most of all I was glad that she didn't mind. I swear I'm not trying to be mysterious. You won't remember me most likely, but your mother does. My family has an intriguing history with the church. My son Taylor sang in your first ever children's choir at the barn four years ago, he really liked you. My mom and PeaJ's mom are friends, and I think PeaJ's wife is awesome. Kathie, I attended at least a couple of the creativity kinships with you and Michele awhile back. My daughter and Michele's daughter were friends until my daughter decided she couldn't handle the pressure of attending church anymore. You and I discussed your performance as Darby's Probation Officer in one of the drama productions a few years back. The internet makes for unusual fellowship, but as far as I'm concerned, in a good way, especially since I'm semi house bound. I think what we're doing with the blogs now was kinda similar to the intention of the VCF online community, and I was sorry when that was stopped. But this is good! I get to hear/make prayer requests, share grief and joy, offer encouragement, consider scripture, ponder christian issues, and definitely engage in fellowship, even if it's electronic. I for one am so grateful for all of you bloggers, and Kathie, I'm sure others are also appreciating what you write, and we are all hoping you get published by some lucky media company in the very near future, or whatever god's timetable reads.

Of course, if I am going to personally autograph a copy of my book I will need a name...something other than "only semi-anonymous"!! ;-)

This is driving me crazy, though, please forgive me for not knowing your name! Shepherd's Inc. was quite a while ago, congratulations on your memory, I feel blessed if I remember what I said yesterday! And you went to a couple creativity kinships? I am going to figure this out, right after I get prayer for the restoration of my memory!

Kathie, I think I've got an idea. I thought I would have just seen you in church by now and said "hi, it's me," but obviously that hasn't worked out yet. Ask Michele, I am on her myspace friends list next to a picture of my daughter.

"shepherd's inc," I hadn't remembered the name tho I certainly was entertained. You were lamenting the hair style required to play the part.
